Purpose: 

Rename a HPSS node 

Aliases: 

Command Format: 

ren[ame] srcpath  sinkpath

Options: 

srcpath : source path (must already exist)

sinkpath : sink path (must not exist)

Keywords: 

DIRn

Usage Notes: 

• Both paths must reference the same HPSS system 
  

• The sink path is overwritten without warning if:

  a. both paths are file objects

  b. both paths are directories and the sink directory is empty.

Example: 

 rename file1 subdir1/file2
